MEDFORD, MA — New Paltz track and field was at the Tufts University Stampede Invitational in Medford, Massachusetts Saturday. Sophomore Gary Beers (Pearl River, NY) and Freshman Sara Joki (Schuylerville, NY) finished at the top of their respected events. Beers was 1st in the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.12 and Joki was 1st in the high jump clearing 5 feet. Sophomores Dave Matthews (Wallkill, NY) and Natasha Dudar (New Paltz, NY) also had success in their events. Matthews was 2nd in the 400 meters at 50.10 (1/10th of a second off the NCAA qualifying time) and Dudar was 2nd in the long jump and the triple jump.
Track and field will next travel to Hobart next Saturday for the SUNYAC Indoor Championships
