BOSTON, MA — The New Paltz women’s basketball team opened their season this weekend at the Emmanuel College Tournament in Boston, Massachusetts. The Hawks lost in the opening round to Montclair 77-53 and in the consolation match to Dickinson 83-60.
On Saturday, Stephanie Russo (Northport, NY) and Silver Williams (Newburgh, NY) led the way for the Hawks. Russo finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Williams ended up with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
On Sunday, Dickinson pulled away from the Hawks in the second half after leading by just 9 points at the break. Lindsay Dakin (Andover, CT) led all scorers with 19 points and Silver Williams had 13 points and 13 boards.
Women’s Basketball plays again on Tuesday when they travel to Mt. St. Mary for a 7:00 pm game.
