Men’s Swimming/Diving Finishes 2nd By One Point

NEW PALTZ — The Men’s Swim Team finished 2nd at the long and short relays at SUNY New Paltz Saturday. The Hawks finished with 49 points behind Oswego which finished with 50 points.

The Hawks finished first in 5 out of the ten events. In the 3×200 breast relay, Jon Amoia (Williamsville, NY), Kent Yeung (Flushing, NY), and Jeffrey Galaise (Torrington, CT) were victorious with a time of 7:02.20. In the 3×200 individual medley, Galaise, Amoia, and Jay Sousa (Albany, NY) won with a time of 6:32.09. In the 200 medley, Sousa, Yeung, Amoia, and Mark Otto (Sewell, NJ) were winners with a time of 1:42.83. Galaise, Sousa, Joe Davidson (Turnersville, NJ), and Mark Costello (Staten Island, NY) were winners in the 4×50 backstroke and Amoia, Yeung, Galaise and Greg Muller (Lindenhurst, NY) won the 4×50 butterfly.
