Men’s Soccer Falls to R.I.T.

ROCHESTER — Missed opportunities plagued the New Paltz Men’s Soccer Team Saturday in Rochester in a 2-0 loss to R.I.T. The Hawks managed 17 shots on the Tigers’ cage but were unable to put one in. The loss drops the Hawks’ record to 4-9 on the season. The regionally ranked Tigers improve to 7-2-2.

R.I.T. struck first just three minutes into the match on Cody Ostrum’s rebound. The match stayed that way until the 85th minute when Noah Decker scored on a nice goal into the far corner from eighteen yards out. New Paltz was outshot in the match by a narrow 21-17 margin and Goalkeeper Kevin Smith (Niskayuna, NY) made 7 saves in the game.

New Paltz plays again Wednesday at Utica/Rome before returning home Saturday against Union at 1:00.
