Vassar defeats New Paltz

NEW PALTZ — The Women’s Soccer Team was defeated by Vassar on Wednesday by a score of 3-0. The loss drops the Hawks season record to 2-4. The Brewers opened the scoring at the 27:32 mark of the first half when Lindsey Pilver scored off a corner kick from Sarah Combs. Less than seven minutes later, Slaine Eversol knocked home a loose ball in front of the goal giving Vassar a two-goal cushion. In the second half, Sarah Combs knocked home a rebound twenty minutes into the half giving her squad a 3-0 advantage that stood up the rest of the game. Vassar finished the match with a 7-2 edge in shots on goal and Maggie Fenton (East Meadow, NY) made 4 saves for the Hawks.

New Paltz plays again this weekend hosting tough conference competition. Brockport comes to town Friday for a 4:00 game and Geneseo on Saturday at 1:00.
