Hawks Fall To Division I George Mason

FAIRFAX, VA. — Division I George Mason proved too strong an opponent for SUNY New Paltz, which lost its men’s volleyball match, 30-25, 30-23, 30-26, on Tuesday night at the John Linn Memorial Gymnasium.

Sophomore setter Beau Warren had 13 assists, eight kills, seven digs and three blocks to lead New Paltz (17-6). Other contributors for the Hawks included Chris Wright (nine kills, four blocks), Otto Tannure (seven kills, six digs), Jason Bateman (seven digs, four blocks, three kills) and Robert Manosca (18 assists).

James Claney, meanwhile, led George Mason (13-4) with 10 kills, four blocks, two digs and two service aces.

New Paltz, which is ranked seventh in Division III, concludes its Virginia spring break trip with a 7 p.m. EIVA Odeneal Conference match against 11th-ranked Eastern Mennonite tomorrow night in Harrisonburg.
