Hawks Clinch Tie For Odeneal Title

HARRISONBURG, VA. — SUNY New Paltz clinched at least a tie for the EIVA Odeneal Conference regular season title with its second win of the season over Eastern Mennonite, 30-23, 30-17, 30-26, on Wednesday night in Virginia.

Sean Riley led New Paltz (18-6), which is ranked seventh in Division III, with 12 kills, eight blocks, five digs and two service aces. Christopher Wright (seven digs, six kills, two blocks), Jason Bateman (nine kills, seven digs, two blocks) and Robert Manosca (25 assists) also contributed to a balanced Hawk effort.

New Paltz returns home with a chance to earn the Odeneal Conference regular season title at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night at Elting Gymnasium against Sacred Heart, which the Hawks defeated in five games on Feb. 8.
