Men’s Basketball Team Loses

NEW PALTZ — SUNY New Paltz shot just under 36 percent for the game, including only 32 percent (10-for-31) in the second half, en route to a 70-52 SUNYAC men’s basketball loss on Tuesday night at Elting Gymnasium.

Robert Jones (16 points, 16 rebounds) and Ben Davey (10 points) reached double figures for the Hawks, while Dominick Fornabaio (two steals) and Pat Stirk (six rebounds, two blocks) scored six points apiece. Meanwhile, three Oswego players – Jeremy Greer, Joe Leone and Jon Snyder – accounted for 71 percent (50 points) of the Laker offense, which made 11 three-pointers.

New Paltz (3-8 overall, 2-6 SUNYAC) will look to snap its three-game losing streak this weekend. The Hawks travel to Utica/Rome on Friday and then host nationally ranked Cortland on Saturday night.
