Women Fourth, Men Sixth At Union Relays

SCHENECTADY — The SUNY New Paltz Swimming and Diving teams placed fourth and sixth in the women’s and men’s meets, respectively, at the Union College Relays on Saturday.

Among numerous second- and third-place finishes, New Paltz’s lone win came in the men’s 300-yard Breaststroke. Jon Amoia, Brian Bivona and Jeff Galaise finished in 3:09.41, some three seconds ahead of their nearest competitor. Amoia’s leadoff leg nearly broke New Paltz’s varsity record in the 100-yard Breaststroke.

The Hawks next travel to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy for a 4 p.m. dual meet on Wednesday.
