Women’s Tennis Team Cruises Past Valiants

NEW PALTZ — Three forfeits led to an easy day for SUNY New Paltz, which cruised past visiting Manhattanville, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon at the New Paltz Air Structure.

Rebecca Billow, Emma Friel, Kristin London and Allison Schwille all won twice for the (2-5) Hawks, which were victorious for the second time in their last three matches.

Schwille (fifth singles) and Friel (sixth singles) were credited with the two singles forfeits, while Friel and London were unopposed at third doubles.

Meanwhile, Lisa Alnwick had a hand in both of Manhattanville’s (1-3) victories, winning individually at second singles, and teaming with Jamillah Primos to take first doubles.

New Paltz is right back in action tomorrow, when it hosts local rival Bard for a 5 p.m. match.
