Field Hockey Edged By Oswego

OSWEGO — Lauren Cobello’s goal with 11:34 remaining broke a scoreless tie and Kristen Fusco added a late goal to help SUNY Oswego edge New Paltz, 2-0, in SUNYAC field hockey on Friday afternoon.

Former Red Hook High standout Danielle Luffman – now an Oswego freshman – assisted on Cobello’s game winner. Fusco’s insurance goal came with just six seconds left in regulation.

Meanwhile, New Paltz freshman Liz Clarke, a Rondout Valley High graduate, had another strong performance in goal, collecting 26 saves in her first match since being named the ECAC Division III Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week.

The Hawks play at Wells College tomorrow at 1 p.m.
