Men’s Tennis Team Falls To Undefeated Manhattanville

PURCHASE — SUNY New Paltz ran into a buzzsaw in undefeated Manhattanville on Wednesday, losing 7-2 to the Valiants to snap its two-match win streak.

The tandem of Woodstock native Justin Jourden and Chris Knoblauch ended Karl Nifontoff and Jonathan Tiltke’s undefeated 12-match run at second doubles, 8-3, and Onteora High graduate Josh Elohim outlasted Alex Berne at fifth singles, 7-5, 7-6 (8-6), to account for the Hawks’ two victories.

New Paltz (6-5) next plays in the Metro Collegiate Tennis Championships this Friday and Saturday at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing.
