Men’s Volleyball Loses To Warriors

NEW PALTZ — SUNY New Paltz squandered a two-game lead en route to a 10-15, 13-15, 15-12, 15-12, 15-9 loss to Division II East Stroudsburg in Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Hay Conference men’s volleyball action on Thursday night at Elting Gymnasium.

Christopher Wright had 16 kills, six blocks and five digs and Robert Manosca added 36 assists, 15 digs and seven kills in a losing effort for New Paltz (5-10 overall, 0-6 Hay Conference), ranked 10th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Top 15 Poll. East Stroudsburg, meanwhile, improves to 4-6 (4-2 EIVA Hay Conference) with the victory.

The Hawks host a tri-match with D’Youville and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. New Paltz takes on M.I.T. in the day’s first match, and after the Engineers and D’Youville square off at 3:00 p.m., the Hawks return to the court to face the third-ranked nationally Spartans in the 5 p.m. nightcap.
