Men’s Tennis Team Rebounds Against C.C.N.Y.

NEW YORK — The SUNY New Paltz men’s tennis team rebounded from Saturday’s season-opening home loss to U.S.M.M.A. to defeat the City College of New York, 8-1, on Monday afternoon in New York City.

The Hawks lost only at second singles en route to evening their record at 1-1. Kingston High graduate Justin Jourden was one of three New Paltz players to win twice. Ed Paulinski and Chris Knoblauch were the others. With the loss, the Beavers fall to 0-1.

New Paltz hosts Castleton State on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. before traveling to Stevens Tech for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday. Saturday’s home match against Oswego has been cancelled, and will not be rescheduled.
