Men’s Volleyball Loses To Vassar

NEW PALTZ — Three players accounted for 29 of New Paltz’s 39 kills, as the Hawks fell to local rival Vassar College, 15-4, 15-6, 15-7, on Tuesday night at Elting Gymnasium.

Chris Wright (12 kills, two digs), Miguel Soriano (nine kills, three digs) and Sean Riley (eight kills) led New Paltz in the losing effort. New Paltz, ranked 10th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Top 15 Poll, drops to 5-9 and remains winless (0-5) in EIVA Hay Conference matches. Vassar, meanwhile, ranked seventh in the poll, improves to 8-5 overall (2-5 EIVA Hay).

New Paltz will look to get back on the winning track on Thursday, when they host (3-6 overall, 3-2 EIVA Hay) East Stroudsburg for a 7 p.m. match.
