Men’s Basketball Team Falls To Potsdam

NEW PALTZ — New Paltz shot 56 percent from the field in the second half, but only 22 percent in the first half to dig a 38-24 halftime deficit, en route to a 79-68 loss to Potsdam on Saturday afternoon at Elting Gymnasium.

Hawk guard Mac Cavanaugh led all scorers with 23 points, including three three-pointers. Robert Jones (16 rebounds, 14 points, three blocks) also reached double figures for New Paltz (2-7 overall, 1-6 SUNYAC), which dropped its fifth straight game.

Jason Lang led four Bears in double figures with 22 points, while John Britton, Andre Peterson (10 rebounds) and Brian Resnick contributed 11 points apiece.

New Paltz is at Oswego for an 8 p.m. contest on Tuesday.
