Men Edged By Cortland In Swimming

NEW PALTZ — Visiting Cortland won four of the final five events to hold off New Paltz, 113-92, in men’s swimming on Saturday afternoon at the Elting Natatorium.

Sophomore Mark Otto won both the 1000 Freestyle and 200 Butterfly to help New Paltz keep the meet close. Jeff Galaise (200 Backstroke) and Chris Newell (50 Freestyle) also placed first for the (7-3) Hawks.

New Paltz will next compete at the 38th Annual SUNYAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at Buffalo’s Erie Community College on February 9-12.
