NORTON, MASS. — The SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team shot just 34 percent from the field en route to a 68-47 loss to Castleton State in the opening round of the Wheaton College Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night at Emerson Gym.
Robin Shields (11 points, five steals), Lisa Burriss (10 points, eight rebounds) and Silver Williams (11 rebounds, eight points) led the (0-1) Hawks in the losing effort.
New Paltz will take on Eastern College in tomorrow’s 1 p.m. consolation final.
