Men’s Cross Country Team Finishes Season At NCAA Regional

GENESEO — Matt Brown was the top finisher as the New Paltz men’s cross-country team placed 21st at the NCAA Middle Atlantic Regional at Geneseo on Saturday.

Freshman sensation Phil Goodwin was the third finisher at the meet for the Hawks (Corey Crawford placed 84th with a time of 27:37), after having an uncharacteristically difficult race, and finishing 113rd (27:59). Goodwin, who recently placed eighth at the SUNYAC Cross-Country Championships, 17th at last weekend’s ECAC Championships, had been one of the Region’s top runners this season.

Other finishers for New Paltz were: Kevin Harrison (153rd, 29:01), Greg Sautner (158th, 29:11), Shaun Roth (169th, 29:36) and Stephen Conroy (203rd, 32:10).
