Women’s Soccer Ties Manhattanville

NEW PALTZ — Jessica Nadolny’s chip over Manhattanville goalkeeper Elizabeth McNamee put New Paltz ahead 1-0 at 52:50, but Susan Horton answered back for the Valiants 20 minutes later, as New Paltz and Manhattanville tied 1-1 in double overtime in women’s soccer on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.

The Hawks closed out their regular season by outshooting Manhattanville, 21-4, in the contest. McNamee stopped 12 shots for the Valiants, while New Paltz’s Laura Neander made three saves in maintaining the tie.

Fourth-seeded New Paltz will face top seed Oneonta in the SUNYAC Tournament semifinals at 11 a.m. Friday at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta. In the other semifinal, #3 seed Oswego faces #2 seed Cortland at 1:30 p.m. The SUNYAC Championship Match is slated for 1 p.m. Saturday.
