Women’s Soccer Team Loses To Brockport

NEW PALTZ — SUNY New Paltz lost a rough and tumble women’s soccer contest, 3-0, to Brockport on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Brockport scored three unanswered goals in the second half for the win. Meghan McCabe converted a rebound shot with an assist from Meghan Bishop at 54:41, Courtney Brodt took a pass from Kerri-Ann Murphy at 66:01 and Kim Hoyt beat New Paltz goalkeeper Laura Neander high to the far side with just under two minutes left in the game.

Neander made 12 saves in a losing effort for the Hawks, while counterpart Angel Milewski stopped six shots for Brockport.

The (5-3-1 overall) Hawks, ranked 10th in the latest NSCAA/Adidas New York/Northeast Region poll, dropped their first SUNYAC match of the season, and failed to score for only the second time this season.

New Paltz is at sixth-ranked Union College at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
