ONEONTA — The SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team shot 50 percent in the first half to trail by just four points, 33-29, at the break, but converted just 6-of-24 shots over the final 20 minutes, as Oneonta slipped past the Hawks, 61-50, at G. Hal Chase Gymnasium.
Senior forward Jasmine Sanchez (seven assists, six rebounds, four steals) and junior guard Robin Shields (seven rebounds, three steals) each had 16 points in the loss for the (4-13 overall, 3-10 SUNYAC) Hawks.
