NEW PALTZ — Senior forward Jasmine Sanchez (New York, NY/Mount St. Ursula ’95) closed out her outstanding women’s basketball career in grand style on Saturday at Elting Gymnasium, collecting a triple-double to lead the Hawks past Potsdam, 70-59, in both schools’ season finale.
Sanchez, a three-time All-SUNYAC selection, had 18 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists, and five steals as (5-19 overall, 4-16 SUNYAC) New Paltz ended the season on a winning note.
Sanchez finished her New Paltz career with 1,066 points, 918 boards, and 304 steals. She became the first women’s basketball player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points on Feb. 6 at Buffalo State College.
