Last weekend we were walking around in New Paltz and, suddenly, we realized that just across Main Street was an amazing and unique place called ‘Water Street Market‘. This is a beautiful place where you can find a lot of interesting shops selling art, antiques, fashion clothes and food. We decided to have lunch in a small restaurant called the ‘Cheese Plate‘, we ate some really delicious selection of cheese. We had a great time!
The Dining Hall meeting is one of the best moment of the week. And this is about more than really good food..
For us is a way to chill out a little bit, close our agenda for a while and stay all together. Every week is the same story: the same table, the same crew…and of course, Giulia’s plate is always the biggest one!
Last weekend we had the opportunity to visit The Culinary Institute of America, it is a culinary college located in Hyde Park founded in 1946.
Besides the impressive infrastructure they have and the fact of being one of the most privileged gastronomy institutions, the university has four restaurants that are attended by the students themselves.
This time we had the opportunity to visit the Bocuse restaurant, named in honor of the famous chef Paul Bocuse, famous for its excellent cuisine and innovative dishes.
If you love good food you should definitely visit this place and try their unique dishes.
A good place to visit while in New Paltz!
There is no sincerer love than the love of food…and the dining experience at the campus dining hall is extraordinarily rich. Surprisingly the variety of dishes goes beyond the classic american food. You have an endless number of options to choose from, including vegan super healthy food prepared with the freshest ingredients.
Besides the atmosphere, the dining hall allows us to socialize and meet other students from campus. This way we make new friends and share our different cultures.
Just extraordinary!!!
Food, everyones favorite thing! For a student food becomes a big deal, you always find that eating is more important then homework, workout, and homework.. Since we moved here we’ve been eating a lot of different things and I just wanted to show you a small selection of all of the food.
After 3 weeks of Living in America we can finally say that we are really starting to feel like at home here in New Paltz. We have all become friends, collected fun stories from our trips and nights out to tell people back home, but we are also developing our everyday habits especially when it comes to food. It is safe to say that Spring 2013 IIB students are definitely embracing the food culture and just might gain a few pounds during our stay 🙂 Personally when it comes to cooking I get really lazy, so the fact that here at Super 8 there isn’t a real kitchen has probably not influenced much my choice of diet. We all know this is the true food story of every student on the planet, so as protocol instead of trying to eat healthy I am gladly feeding on big portions of my beloved pizza served by “Mummy take-out”. As I am now becoming an expert on New Paltz pizza I thought I would share some of my insights with anyone interested:
So as for food I have back home I can’t really complain since there are 3 valid pizzerias to choose from. Now to my next task: find good espresso, the real Italian “must have” 😉
