Capstones in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Picture the New Paltz student in the home stretch of her capstone project.   After years of exploring, inquiring, synthesizing, integrating, and—let’s face it, toiling—capstone students plunge into a pool of unknown depth, driven by passionate conviction.  What they create will be of their own design.  Yet when they emerge, experts on their chosen topic, their work is recognized by others as a step forward to address a human need, a contribution of knowledge and beauty. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences student’s capstone now reaches beyond him to enter into a dialogue with unknown kin.
