Join us for a workshop about how to use the online poster presentation tool, Glogster.  The workshop will be led by Rachel Rigolio of the English Department; Rachel has used Glogster in her classes with great success and she will walk interested faculty through the basics of the program and answer questions about how Glogster was incorporated into her curriculum.

An excellent website with many resources for teachers from the Center for Teaching at Vanderbilt University.  This website includes a variety teaching guides approaching instruction from different standpoints, teaching topics to explore, and an online library of print and video resources.

On Wednesday, April 24, faculty from the University of South Carolina will conduct a webinar on “Teaching Large Classes Online.”  Join us for this timely presentation as we move into an increasingly MOOC-friendly educational environment.  This event will  run from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m in the Honors Center, College Hall 111.

Daniel Barbezat, Professor of Economics at Amherst College and Executive Director of the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society, will speak on “Contemplative Pedagogy: The Role of Teaching and Learning Centers.” At Amherst, Professor Barbezat teaches a variety of courses but specializes in economic history. Most recently, he has begun work on happiness and economics and the role of introspection and awareness in decision making. The Center for Contemplative Mind in Society is an organization committed to the transformation of higher education by supporting and encouraging the use of contemplative practices to create active learning and research environments and a more just and compassionate society.

The TLC presents a webinar entitled ”What Are Our Assessment Results Telling Us?” and presented by Linda Suskie.  The webinar will be located in the Honors Center, College Hall 111 and will take place on April 16th from 12:00pm – 1:30pm.

The CCET ePortfolio sub-Committee will host a seminar at the TLC focusing on the creation and use of ePortfolios on Mahara software.  The seminar will be presented by Ellen Murphy, the Director of Online Curriculum at SUNY Empire State College.
