Faculty and staff awards, honors, and appointments

Congratulations to the following faculty and staff members for their notable awards, honors, and appointments and promotions:

Karen Bell (Educational Administration Chair) has received a $125,000 grant from SUNY Central for her project titled, ” Downstate SUNY Center for Innovation in Education: Collaborative Exploration Learning and Leadership Space (CELLS).”

Adjunct professor Susan Miller (Art Education), Linda Smith (Teaching/Learning Center) and Annette Cohen, a faculty member at Great Bay Community College, were published in the August issue of International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Adjunct professor Susan Miller (Art Education) was awarded a 2014 Orange Tourism Grant for her public project: Deerest Deerpark II, which is an extension of her grant Deerest Deerpark I.

Lisa Mitten (Sustainability) has received a $20,000 grant from New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission for her project titled, ” Planning & Implementing Green Infrastructure to Improve Watershed Resiliency in the Saw Mill Brook Watershed & Village of New Paltz.”

Associate Professor Chih-Yang Tsai (School of Business) co-authored the article “Hospital Rounding – EHR’s Impact” featured in a recent issue of International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance. The study compares physicians’ hospital rounding workflow before and after the implementation of a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system at the three hospitals operated by Health Quest.
